New Assistant Director
The Rutgers University Bands are thrilled to announce that Dr. Julia Baumanis has been named as our new Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Pep Bands. In addition, Dr. Baumanis will conduct concert ensembles and teach various courses in the music department of the Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Dr. Baumanis recently served as the Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Central Missouri and before that served as Associate Director of Bands and Orchestras at JP Taravella High School in Broward County Florida. She is a distinguished graduate of The Florida State University College of Music, most recently completed her Phd in Music Education and Instrumental Conducting. In addition, Dr. Baumanis is a nationally recognized researcher and sought after clinician and performer.
We are incredibly excited to have her join the Rutgers band family and can't wait to get started working together!

On Monday, November 4th, the MSK performed halftime at the Giants Cowboys game at MetLife Stadium!
The performance, which was part of our 150th anniversary of college football celebration, highlighted Rutgers football history from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Music included music from Wild Cherry, Prince, Guns n' Roses, Backstreet Boys, and 98 Degrees.

Years of College Football
This season, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of college football, which began of course with the first game between Rutgers and Princeton. This season, the band will play halftime shows celebrating RU football history, featuring music from many eras. This season will be a year to remember for the Marching Scarlet Knights!
